submersible applications
Typically the fish pump is placed into the raceway, pond , or cage-pen with the hydraulic leads and outlet hose attached. The pump is then positioned to have the ability to crowd or direct fish into the pump intake chute using a screen-crowder, cutter seines, or shrimp pond drainage systems. A discharge hose is attached and runs from the pump to a dewatering device or a fish grader which can be mounted on top of a live-haul truck, trailer, etc.
non-submersible applications
The Aqua-Life Fish Pump is the only fish pump worldwide, which can be used both Non-submersible as well as Submersible. European customers are using the Aqua-Life Fish Pump for both applications within the same hatchery and facility. Reports from the Mediterranean region have verified that when used Non-Submersible or “dry” that the fish size capacity, of the Aqua-Life Fish Pump, has been dramatically increased in low head applications. Whether you are pumping fish from Tanks, Raceways or Cage Pens ,this new option can make fish transfers as versatile as your imagination.
shrimp applications
The Aqua-Life Shrimp Harvesting System has the capability of handling large volumes of shrimp over a short period of time with minimal labor. By avoiding the need to stop water flow during harvest, these systems also minimize the number of shrimp left in the pond to be hand picked. The process involves screening shrimp from the drainage water, pumping them to the dewatering tower where they are separated from the pond water and discharged into insulated totes filled with an ice-water slurry, which results in immediate chilling to near freezing.
Unlike the traditional system of alternately applying a layer of shrimp and a layer of ice, which can result in hot spots causing product deterioration. Each 1m³ insulated box will hold about 800 lbs (360kg.) of head on shrimp. The ice slurry system provides a consistent chilling every time. Also, crushing is avoided due to suspension of the shrimp in the ice-water slurry
jv shrimp applications
The BP40S and BP60SS BioStream pumps feature variable speed 7.5 H.P. (BP40S) and 10HP (BP60SS) electric drive, auto self-priming and optional remote control operation conveniently packaged into a compact aluminum cart. These units have been proven to transfer in excess of 2.5km and can be operated in series to extend that range.
Because the BioStream pump has the ability to gently and safely transfer Juvenile Shrimp, it eliminates the stress encountered from manual handling and is believed to have substantial benefits with prolonging and decreasing the onset of White Spot and EMS. These systems can be configured with counting (animals greater than 3g), dewatering, oxygen injection and any custom criteria that your application might require.
